Surfing In KauaiWe love to travel and while we were on the island of Kauai in Hawaii we saw this random truck parked with a sign that said "surfing lessons." So we called the guy and 15min later we were learning to surf. Lindsay was better at it than me. I credit her lifetime of gymnastics for honing her balancing skills.
Hi There!
We know choosing a wedding photographer can feel like a daunting process. If you're like us, you want to work with people you can trust, who know their craft, and have a way of making you feel like you've always known one another. If that sounds like you, we can't wait to meet you.
In the meantime, let us introduce ourselves.
“We love our couples and because we love our couples we love what we do… and when you love what you do, you want to do it to the best of your ability”
It all started
in high school
Yep, we’re good ol’ fashioned ewy-gooey High School Sweethearts! I don’t think either of us knew we would one day be married and run a photography business. But we knew we loved being around one another and wherever that led it would at least be together.

Lindsay grew up in Cookeville TN and is a Chapstick connoisseur (when we met she had 60 tubes of the stuff.) She also competed as a gymnast all the way up through collage at the University of Kentucky (Once tying with an Olympian, which she will never forget.) Because of this lifetime in gymnastics she also developed the keen ability to ride rollercoasters and never get dizzy. She’s also an attorney who loves sunsets, working out, and cranking her music up to “eleven” in her car. testing.

Brandon grew up in Harlan County KY. If you’ve seen the show “Justified” then you tasted a small bit of his stomping grounds. He has a background in business and technology and he loves remodeling projects. He does get very dizzy on rollercoasters… When it comes to food, he’s a Paleo fan and loves to cook for people. His heart is in storytelling sometimes telling the same story twice but always with new flare. He loves to write and is currently working to see his first book published.

Our Story
Too Cute!
Tiny Little Gymnast
Lindsay grew up in Cookeville TN. Her family has roots going back generations in this area. She has always had a keen eye for photography and even more so in caring for people. She once went through a kick where she wouldn't eat anything that was once alive; including vegetables. Of course that didn't last very long but it shows how much she cares for the small things in life.

Tiny Little Preachers Kid
Brandon grew up in the foothills of Appalachia in an area called Harlan County KY. As you can tell his childhood photo is a bit different from Lindsay's. What you can't see in the photo to the left are the lightning bolts he had cut into the sides of his hair that were colored with a marker. Yep, we often joke if we met at this age Lindsay may never have seen him the same way. 🙂 This photo was taken in the parsonage he lived in until moving to Cookeville TN in 4th grade. Brandon grew up as a pastors kid, or PK for those in the club.

Where It Started
High School - Where It All Started
If you read Brandon's description above then you know it's true he really can't grow a beard 🙂 We met in our jr. year of high school. Now if you ask Lindsay she will say it was our senior year but Brandon has friends to confirm it was our junior year. Regardless, Brandon likes to joke it only took a year for him to get Lindsay to remember him.
Photo Story: The photo above is from a mission's trip we took during a summer break. We were not dating at the time but were just really close friends. What you can't see from the photo is all the friends we had in the bus who convinced Brandon it would be fun to put his hair in tiny little braids held by rubber bands.
He may be smiling but we never thought those bands would come out without scissors. Oh the joys of youthful love 🙂

Prom
Yep, we went to prom together. Oddly enough we didn't dance. We mostly hung out with our one another and friends then hit up Waffle House later that night. Brandon was so nervous picking up Lindsay that afternoon that he drove right through a stop sign no more than 1 minute after they got in the car.
We had our photos done earlier that day. Notice the glowing halo around Brandon's head.

Gym Cat Lindsay
As soon as Lindsay could walk she was in gymnastics. Brandon used to mess with her about how many medals she had one since she would hang them on a rack at the end of her staircase. Every time she would go down the stairs she would run her finger over those medals to make them clang together. It was the sound of victory but we think more so it was just fun to do. 🙂
Lindsay competed as a gymnast for the University of Kentucky for 4 years. The photo above was taken by one of the media students there of her bar routine.

Brandon Loves Technology
Brandon has always loved anything with blinking lights and knowing what makes something work. He can remember as a kid getting two remote control cars and sitting in his room deciding which one he was going to keep and which one was going to be disassembled to see how it worked.
Brandon has a background in business and technology working in the software world for 7 years before venturing off to start our business full time. The photos above are from one of the trade shows he frequented.

Wedding Bells
Oh Happy Day
On June 23, 2007 we shared vows and became husband and wife. To celebrate we released "doves" that were actually white homing pigeons. Those little guys were ready to fly and almost got loose inside the church building. Thankfully we all made it outside without any incident and the release went just as planned. After flying 3 circles above our heads they were off back home many miles away, making it there later that evening.

Canon You Help Me Take Some Photos
Yep, we shoot Canon (and tell corney photographer jokes as well.)
Lindsay has always been into photography and shortly after we were married she started shooting small sessions and landscapes. With her keen eye and Brandon's technical background we began to see our skills complimented one another. We both love helping people so we decided to dip our toes in the water of photography and haven't looked back since.
We decided from the very beginning that we would care for our clients special day just as much as they did. That meant we would invest in only the best training, best equipment, and best business methods. But, more than that we would take the time to invest in a relationship with each of our clients.
Call it "old style business" but we believe in the power of a caring relationship. When our clients trust us and feel comfortable around us... It shows in their photos.
It's taken us many years to build our reputation for caring for our couples as much as we do and we continue to build on that reputation with each new couple we get the opportunity to serve.
In the photography world there are always new styles and trends... But we believe some things never go out of style and one of those things is taking the time to make people feel loved and cared for.
That kind of care gives our couples the ability to trust us and in our business trust is the foundation to capturing photo stories our couples love.
