Carmen & Ryan – Victorian Inspired Fall Wedding in Sewanee Tennessee

We came away from shooting Carmen and Ryan’s wedding with such a happy feeling in our hearts for them. Since they met while in school at Sewanee, there was no question they wanted to get married there in the amazing All Saint’s Chapel on campus. Though we got to know them through Skype and a quick coffee date, we didn’t get to spend time with them through an engagement session like we often do. But guys, on their wedding day we couldn’t have asked for a SWEETER couple. They were so kind, so gracious, so trusting, and so incredibly in love with each other. The respect and care they take, even in just talking to each other, was beautiful, as was their traditional Episcopalian ceremony in the awe-inspiring sanctuary. We were blessed with an amazing crisp fall day with colors in the trees that seemed to linger just for us. And the icing on the cake was sunset portraits of the bride and groom at the bluff, where we had a gorgeous overlook view and a stunning pink sun that lowered quickly but gracefully into the clouds. It was a perfect day and we loved getting to witness their union and help create beautiful images for them to treasure and pass along to their family.

Here’s a look into their day.

A pocket watch given to this groom by his bride for their wedding day. So he wouldn’t be late? 🙂This first look was priceless. So so sweetBridesmaid Cater hand-made this throw for Carmen! Too precious
And the ceremony begins…Let me just tell you guys, THIS is why you should build time into your day for golden hour portraits… especially if you have an amazing location to magnify the sunset! The supermoon was starting that night – a perfect way to say congrats to this deserving couple.
