Anna & Blake – Fall Engagement in old town Carthage Tennessee

We’ve known Anna for years. She’s one of those people that is easy to be with, instantly makes you feel like a friend, and makes you laugh constantly. We’d known about her boyfriend but only met him once before he proposed. We knew Anna would choose a great person to spend forever with, and our engagement session certainly was a test for this fella who doesn’t like photos AT ALL. He passed with flying colors, did all that we asked and more, and trusted us completely. The result was photos they loved, and a happy bride-to-be. Fall is a tricky time of year for photos, because the weather has SO much power over us. Could be hot, could be freezing. Could be windy or so rainy, causing leaves to change or not change color or drop too soon. It’s all up in the air. Literally. So, when these two opted for a November engagement session we braced for the worst. And yet, it turned out to be THE BEST. We lucked out with perfect weather, a touch of cool, color still around, and calm winds. The best part was the sunset. We started in downtown Carthage for a small town homey feel and then popped over to Turner Farms, Anna’s family property, to see where the wedding might be and to finish up some lovely portraits. We scoped around and played until the sun was PERFECT, and then the sky gave us a show for the end of the session. It was a great end to our season of engagement sessions, and we are super anxious for these guys to shine once again next October for their wedding.
