Best of 2013 – Seniors and Portraits

Although weddings have come to take the major piece of pie in the pie chart for us, when we aren’t shooting love stories we are still taking family and senior sessions. It’s a major part of what we started out doing, and so there’s a big part of my heart that won’t let it go. Enjoy a few of our favorite portrait session shots!

Portraits of 2012

Well, it seems like every year gets busier and busier. For the photography industry, being busy is good. Not just because of a number or a status. No, it’s more than that…it means that people admire, respect and trust our work. More still, it means they value what we strive to provide them – memories.   When my mother passed away suddenly just over a year ago, one of the first things I did was to go through her home and look for photos of her. At first I struggled looking through them. It was hard knowing that this was

The Brewington Family

This spring session of the Brewington siblings was one of my favorite family sessions of the year so far. These kids were so well mannered, up for doing anything I suggested, and absolutely adorable. Not to mention the great locations Mom Sandy found. They also brought along some perfect  little props that I loved incorporating. Check out those wooden signs and bench from a barn on their property. Reclaimed wood is a favorite of mine anyway! I just feel like I’ve made friends with this family and I can’t wait until our next session. Here are a few highlights from

{The Best of 2011 ~ Portraits}

So, I realize it’s halfway through February and that I’m a tad late on my “best of” posts. But better late than never, right? Well, here goes!   I didn’t think it was possible to have even more fun than we did in 2010, but 2011 proved me wrong. Brandon and I met even more amazing families, babies and seniors in ’11 and we were seriously so blessed to create such fun and memorable photos for our new friends.   We had more sessions than any prior year, and worked our cameras hard to keep up with everyone. But man,

{The Randolph Family}

This family was so much fun to work with. Each of them had their own “thing” and it made them so unique, but at the same time this family was such a cohesive unit. The boys were some of the most well-mannered I’ve seen, and the parents were open to anything. Here’s a small peek of some of the greats from their day. Such a sweet couple!Karate Kid… Tyler’s totally into “The Flash” comic book character, so Brandon did this shot just for him …

{The Dyer Family}

The Dyers are such a great family. Brandon and I photographed Lacy’s wedding and got to know her parents through that, and Holly and I went to school together. Last month, we had the opportunity to photograph the whole family together for the first time since the wedding and we had so much fun. Mr. Dyer was a ham for the camera and was sure to create laughs for the rest of us, but I really loved how in love Mr. and Mrs. Dyer still are after years of marriage – it’s beautiful! Here is a small peek of the

{The Swann Family}

If you’ve been lucky enough to read the new issue of “Naynoo” magazine, then you’ve seen this beautiful family already. Megan and Ben have an amazing story of their journey to become parents. They adopted little Campbell, who is a darling little one-year-old. This family inspires me, and I was honored to capture some fresh portraits of them at their new home. Enjoy these photos, and if you can, grab the latest “Naynoo” and check out their powerful story.

{Best of 2010 ~ Portraits}

2010 was by far my busiest year yet. I was excited to meet so many new families and become a part of their lives by taking memorable photos of them with loved ones. In this post, you’ll see some of my very favorite photos from this year, including babies, children, families, and seniors. Many you’ve seen, some you haven’t…but all in all, still good to go back and see what the year brought. I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store!

{Kipton – 6 months}

You might remember this little fella from his newborn photos back in May. He was so cooperative and easy going then, and it was the same with his 6 month photos. I met Kipton and his parents at their family’s farm house in Crossville. It wasn’t long before I saw the barn (and my eyes lit up – plus it was a gorgeous day with great afternoon light!), and we talked about all the fun places and ideas we had for the session. I loved every minute of it, and I hope you enjoy these little previews of Kipton’s 6

{Little Cadence}

Cadence and her parents travelled all the way from Carthage for their annual family photos. This couple has a special place in my heart, as theirs was the first wedding I photographed. When little Cadence came along, I was so excited to meet her and I’ve done several photoshoots for them since. I always look forward to seeing them! Oh, and they have an adorable little addition ~ their teeny-weeny puppy Tiana. Such a cute family! Sometimes with kids, they simply aren’t in the mood to let me take their photo . Cadence was this way for a while, but
