Caylin and Logan have amazing personalities. Their unique and young perspectives show just how strong love can be and how much commitment can truly drive us. For their engagement session, we took it all back to the spot where Logan proposed, Dogwood Park in Cookeville, TN. It’s a quaint little park that has become a popular hotspot for children since the new fountain and playground area, but the rose garden is a quieter and more romantic spot for hanging out with your love, so on the bench he popped the question. She said yes, obviously, and here we are just

Sean and Shelby are some of the most fun people to be around. Their sarcastic playfulness and quick wit makes their company even more memorable. But they truly do have a love and respect for each other that was obvious on their wedding day. On a hot summer day at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Tennessee, we spent the day with them as they prepared for becoming husband and wife. With friends and family by their sides, we laughed and watched as they truly enjoyed one another’s company. Take a look at some of the moments that make
Crissy has been a dear friend of mine for a very long time. Since college, I’ve prayed along with her for the right man to come along that is worthy of her hand in marriage. She has been so faithful, so patient in her search for him that she wouldn’t even seriously date anyone who didn’t measure up.. So last year when I heard she was dating a guy, my heart began to well up with excitement and curiosity. When we met him something inside of me just knew – he was so caring, so considerate, and yet so FUN
Tamara and Brent are super sweet together. They are both so kind and down-to-earth that it made this country engagement session to easy and fun. We love getting to know our couples’ interests as we plan our sessions, and as we chatted with Tamara and Brent, they decided to have us come to their home for some shots of them just doing what they do. We shot it just before the peak of the beautiful fall and had some hints of orange – the light was perfect, and we just had fun with the landscape. It was one of our
Earlier this year, Brandon and I had an opportunity that got us super excited. We follow photography blogs and chat with photographers from all over the country, and deep down (well, not too deep really), I’ve always thought it would be so amazing to do a session in New York City. Well, as luck would have it, we got a call from Chris and Heather – who just happen to live in NYC. They called to see about us doing photography at their wedding in Tennessee. If you missed it, check out their wedding here. Anyway, as options for engagement
Carrie and Cameron are super fun to be around. When we first started talking, we instantly found connections and just clicked with them. Their wedding day forecast, like many of our May weddings this year, looked grim. Rain, clouds, and wind. But as we arrived and began shooting, umbrellas in hand, the clouds parted and the rain slowed. Just in time for their ceremony at the gorgeous Alpine Presbyterian Church, the sun was shining and the guests were arriving with smiles on their faces. A day mixed with laughter, love and excitement … and did I mention laughter? … their
Erin and Matt’s wedding day was so so perfect. I know I say good things about every wedding, but this one was even more special for us since Erin is Brandon’s sister. The day started with Erin, her maid of honor and her mother getting hair and makeup done. I love this portion of the day because there is so much anticipation and excitement in the room. Then we headed to the Tulip Grove Mansion at the Hermitage in Nashville to get ready for portraits before the ceremony. Beautiful location! Erin and Matt opted for a first look and it
We met Becca at a bridal show earlier this year, and from the moment we talked to her and her mom and sister, we fell in love with their excitement and wedding planning mo-jo. Becca was our very first bride to book for 2013, and we simply can’t wait for their big day. Becca and Will got engaged in Italy last year… I know, swoon… and while they’re both devoted to school and work, they still make time for each other and the important things in life. When we were planning our engagement session, we became limited in our dates.
AJ and Johnny are some of the most laid back and fun people you’ll ever meet. I don’t know who’s more excited that we are shooting their wedding – me or AJ! When she got engaged, I was secretly hoping that we’d get a call about doing her wedding. See, AJ was a bridesmaid in a wedding we did last year, and I tell you, those bridesmaids were all fabulous and I just fell in love with AJ. So, this couple has a super cute story, and they wanted a country feel for their session. I had a friend who
This little one has a story too precious not to share. Baby Anna was born in late April, and topped the scale at a mere 2.5 pounds! She was a preemie, arriving at just 31 weeks! Her little spirit has fought within her tiny body and she has thrived and grown over the last few months. On the date of our newborn session, she was still not even due to be born, and she was already several weeks old! With newborns, it’s best to get to them within the first two weeks of life to ensure a sleepy and curly
